The regeneration of the Heygate estate in Elephant and Castle, while working towards the eventual goal of improved public housing, has up-heaved many families in the process.  The Sakho family and Suzanne and her children are caught up in the uncertainty of temporary housing (empty flats destined for demolition are offered by the council to families on a temporary basis in order to try and limit the number of tenants that they will be obliged to re-house in the new regenerated buildings).  Ruth and her family, finally in a garden maisonette after years of high-rise living, don’t know when they might have to move again and give it up since their block is due for demolition.  Instability is felt by all, as well as a fear of losing communities when they are finally re-housed and possibly dispersed all over the borough.  In these uncertain times people rely on the company of family and friends around them.
